Print of heirloom golden beet
I love the orange root of the beet, and the bright colour that becomes apparent when you wash off the soil it was growing in. When I positioned the leaves it looked so elegant it made me think of a swan with its long slender neck.
This was also part of a project to celebrate heirloom plant varieties and to raise awareness about their importance. Heirloom varieties are grown from heritage seeds, passed down from one generation to the next, they have been cultivated for decades as opposed to crops grown in large scale production.
This is reproduction of an Heirloom Golden Beet painting. Painted in the traditional style with watercolour, working from a real specimen to capture its vitality and to achieve the highest possible likeness.
-Printed on high quality acid free watercolour paper with archival inks, helping the colours to stay the same for years to come.

-Print is signed by the artist.
-Print does not include frame or background props
