Canadian Provincial / Territorial Flowers

The official floral emblems of Canada

I’m excited to share that I am starting a new collection of the Western Provincial/Territorial flowers!

Welcome to my new collection, a project to seek out and paint the provincial floral emblems of Canada. It will take me a couple of years to find the specimens I need, and to create finished paintings.

Some day I'll do the Eastern provincial flowers too, but I'm starting with the ones closer by.

The western provincial/territorial flowers are:

  1. British Columbia: Pacific dogwood (Cornus nuttallii)

  2. Alberta: Wild rose (Rosa acicularis)

  3. Saskatchewan: Western Red Lily (Lilium philadelphicum)

  4. Manitoba: prairie crocus (Pulsatilla ludoviciana)

  5. Northwest Territories:Mountain Avens (Dryas octopetala)

  6. Yukon: Fireweed (Epilobium angustifolium)
